What a glory we are Indians…!!!!

15th August – The Independence day!
"Oh ! What a glory, we are Indians" – we say,

The Tricolor flutters in air with pride,
My India today looks just like a bride !,
The bravery of the Martyrs is being sung aloud,
The "Sacrifice Stories" being listened to by the crowd.

Statues of great leaders, stand decorated,
Each spirit held high, each heart elated !,
The National anthem echoes from each and every corner,
All heads are bent in Mother India’s honor.

Oh ! What a spirit, What a grand celebration !!
The air abounds with joy, its smells exhilaration !

But ….. !!! What’s that has changed the scene suddenly to horror ?
Oh ! It’s a bomb blast ! It’s death and it’s terror !!!

A single minute of silence…...
thereafter the screaming sorrow….
A blood filled scene….
From where should life be borrowed ??

Statues and dead bodies.. lie still on the earth,
There’s no difference now !!! Is this life’s worth?
The Tricolor is now nowhere to be seen,
Lost are the meanings of saffron, white and green,

16th August – The next new day !
"Oh ! What a pity these are Indians’ – other’s say.

O dear fellowmen, where are those spirits?
Where has the power gone?
Why are we so weak?
How could Evil strike the winning gong?

Let’s wake up dear Indians !
Let’s come to know that we’re asleep !
Let’s fight this evil out !
Let’s not sit and weep !

Let’s take up a pledge,
to free the golden bird,
Let it flutter its wings freely,
and see a beautiful world !
