The Tricolor flutters in air with pride,

My India today looks just like a bride !,

The bravery of the Martyrs is being sung aloud,

The "Sacrifice Stories" being listened to by the crowd.

Statues of great leaders, stand decorated,

Each spirit held high, each heart elated !,

The National anthem echoes from each and every corner,

All heads are bent in Mother India’s honor.

Oh ! What a spirit, What a grand celebration !!

The air abounds with joy, its smells exhilaration !

But ….. !!! What’s that has changed the scene suddenly to horror ?

Oh ! It’s a bomb blast ! It’s death and it’s terror !!!

A single minute of silence…...

thereafter the screaming sorrow….

A blood filled scene….

From where should life be borrowed ??

Statues and dead bodies.. lie still on the earth,

There’s no difference now !!! Is this life’s worth?

It started with two friends together,

with promises so big and strong,

Wondered how they used to be,

singing together the friendship song.

The days passed fleeting fast,

All seasons they saw in the past,

A day came, when they got parted,

Both of them were carried to the way wrong,

Puzzled and tense, they struggled all along,

The storm wanted the precious friendship feathers,

It tried both of them, until their lives got withered,

And then it clinged the neck of one of the two,

Asking of the feather, friend's life in lieu,

A decision was made, the hearty gift was lost,

One life was spared at another's cost.

Lost was the hope, broken was the heart,

Riding on a white horse,
From the sky far away,
He had come down to me,
Like a bright sunny ray,
Twinkling were his eyes,

I sat thinking today,
what does life have to say?
Death is sure to come after life,
But why there's never a second way?

Why do we go on constructing this wall,
When it has to be broken after all?
The way we come to life,
The same way we go to death!
There isn't a single difference
between the first and last breath!

Life follows the sequence
Of pleasures and pains,
At every stage it's neutral,
-No losses; No gains!

People come close to us,
And move far away,
They make us drown in sorrow,
They cause us to be gay,

What meaning does come out?
When everything is equally probable!
Why should we move up and down,
With the waves of comforts and troubles?

At that instance suddenly,
A flower caught my sight,
It was blooming red with fragrance,
As though laughing at my plight.

I felt as if it wanted,
To tell me some fact,
I heard it speaking softly,
Its very own dialect-

"What do you think of life?
It's just an unnecessary truth!
If that's the way you think,
I can just have on you some Ruth!"

My life is short although,
It's a precious chance to exist!
My body will die out certainly,
but my lingering fragrance
will let me persist.

To 'exist' is not so simple,
It's something very great!
You've got a chance to be yourself!
So go for the best possible trait!

After death you'll be lost,
In the darkness unexplored.
If today is light in your hands,
Why not have it some more?

Stop thinking of life and death,
Stop thinking of pleasures and pains,
Feel the beauty of love around you,
And there'll be only gains!

Reach closer to some hearts,
Oh! Shower the love rain,
You'll live even after death,
Your life will not be in vain !

A small world growing to eternity,
Riding the waves in the ocean of life,
The sun smiling bright and warm,
The air carrying breathes of charm.

The blooming beauty takes its shape,
Under the clouds of the azure sky,
Waking up the buds from the slumber,
To blossom as a bunch of amber

The space covered with golden hay
Singing the song of divine that May
Fill the blues with pink, showering green,
Rejuvenating spirit, making it serene.

A sun to smile with a breaking dawn,
Enlightening the mind, the withering brains,
Some rain drops to melt the heart,
Hardened with hate, beaten by pains,

Lost in the dreams of earth and the sea,
And the conflicts between the world and me
Smiles and tears spilled on the horizon,
Waving their hands, sending a summon

A summon to some one close to heart
Some one who knows the living art
An art of discerning virtues from vices
An art to liberate from the world that entices

Strings of smiles, beats of passion
Voice of Venus, the Music of compassion,
Songs of the alive, wisdom of the dead,
All in the little path of life that is ahead

The love of the life, beating in a heart,
Adorning the soul, melting the parts,
Giving words to the highs and lows,
Life goes on and on.... fast and slow.

I can feel you around me,
You appear in every face
As all my nears and dears,
You bring up my life's pace

I can feel you above me,
As the huge azure sky,
You make me feel safe,
You give me the space to fly.

I can feel you beneath,
As the land on which i stay,
You give me a base to stand,
To walk through, you give me a way,

I can feel you within me,
As the power of my being,
You help me live up my life,
You give me the gaiety to sing.

I see you everywhere,
Wherever reaches my sight,
I experience your power,
I feel your love's might.

This beautiful world you have made,
Is a place to rejoice,

I wish i were a crow...black n dirty,
No one would have looked at me,
No one would have captured me,
No one would have imposed on me,
No one would have possessed me,

I cud fly, fly n fly to reach the peak,
I cud touch the flowing streams with my beak,
I cud sing my own melodies in the raucous tone,
I cud flow with the air, for just my peace alone,
I cud be with myself always.....
I cud have chosen my own ways....

I just wish I were free........
Gliding in the nature with glee,
Free from all the chains binding me,
Chains of attachment,
Chains of impositions,
Chains of expectations,
Chains of boundations,
Chains of restrictions,
Chains of relations,

I feel suffocated....I wanna be free....
What do I do, I wanna flee........

I have to free myself,
Bruising the ‘I’ that’s a curse,
To get dissolved in the milk of love,
To be one with the universe!

At last, where do I go?
It’s me, who carries this rigid shell,
It’s high time, have to break it,
If I wanna be all well!!

The journey...and a dream...

Green was the valley, green was my heart,
Melody pulling my strings apart,
Getting dissolved in the drops of rain,
I was falling freely as if the rest was all vain.

There came a fragrant breeze, so swift and so prune,
It was so much on its way, just one note and no other tune,
I dared to ask,
"Why are you pulling me your way?
I want to meet my love, my sea,
I am merry to fall down freely,
Why are you carrying me away?"

No answer could be heard; it just kept me on board,
I started counting, till the time i could hold
I could see the huge sea left past,
I couldn't even weep, the flight was so fast.

Oh I had longed all my life to meet my love so real!
How could destiny have been so cruel?
Again I was perturbed, is it right or wrong?
Even when i am captured, why do I feel strong?

Still no answer, and i was all blue,

Just held on to it asking for no clue,
Suddenly I felt i was on spree,
I couldn't believe i was set all free!!!

I was freely falling to the earth again,
Thinking of the breeze, my past and the pain.
I fell in the mouth of a thirsty bird,
The pained soul got a healing word,

It was flying and hovering all around,
I heard a loud joyous sound,
It looked at the sky and wept out a tear,
I was out again, a new life and some fear,
Again i saw the breeze coming,
Again i was set on a journey untold,
Again i was flowing clueless,
Again my desires were put on hold.

It was so fragrant, so swift and so prune,
Just one note and no other tune,
I kept looking at it with a smile,
No second thought for even a while.

Here was my angel, the one heaven sent,
Who carried me away from the world of repent..
To a new world where my love showers,
Where life seems to me like a bed of flowers.

I am here to serve, He made me realize,
Not to fall in love, just have to rise.
I can't meet my love, unless i give my all away,
For meeting my beloved sea, this is the only way.

Sometimes I think,
What’s in me that's love?
Is it the smile that gives sunshine?
Is it the warmth which brightens someone's life?
Is it the song which soothes the ruffled souls?
Is it the words which fill the empty whole?
Is it the awe that frightens the evil?
Is it the eyes which look at the devil?
Is it the tear that can melt the frozen?
Is it the anger that can count a dozen?
This and everything else seems to be love....
Sometimes I think,
Is it me or just love?
